Dr. Amanda Smith-Socaris, PT, DPT, OCS
A graduate of Ithaca College in 1998, Amanda is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist – a credential held by 2% of the physical therapists in the United States. She returned to school to obtain her doctoral degree and has extensive education in manual therapy techniques to alleviate spinal pain. Amanda enjoys helping patients who have tried other physical therapy in the past realize a more optimal level of function and pain reduction. She was a volunteer at Schuyler Health Check providing the under-served with needed rehabilitation services and she provides sport-specific injury prevention clinics for local school athletic teams. In her spare time she runs, bikes, hikes and finds new things to do and learn.
Dr. Genevieve Smith, PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Genevieve Smith, PT, DPT, has a background in orthopedic rehabilitation. Dr. Smith received her doctorate in physical therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University after completing an undergraduate degree at SUNY Geneseo and became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2016. In addition to her academic accomplishments, she played soccer for all four of her undergraduate years. She donates her time serving as the Southern Tier District Co-Chair for the New York Physical Therapy Association. She excels in providing compassionate care for her patients while applying evidence-based principles.
C. Ann Carter, PTA
Ann received her Bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts from the University of North Carolina and went on to obtain a Master’s of Arts degree from Rutgers University. After a successful career with service organizations in the Ithaca area, her interest in health care was piqued. She attended Broome Community College to secure her Physical Therapist Assistant Degree in 2011. She brings a special interest in falls prevention and fitness for older adults.
